As Christmas is only a few days away, we are all looking for things to do with our families that will get us in the Christmas spirit, while staying safe and healthy. Here are nine Christmas light display recommendations within an hour and a half of Jackson, TN that allow you to make some special memories with your family, AND stay socially distanced!
Keep in mind many of these are located in residential areas and to drive safely and respectfully!
Markowski Christmas Lights
1675 Coburn Rd
Brownsville, TN 38012
This is one of my personal favorite drive-thru light excursions in this area. If you love a personal, custom light display that has a handmade feel and awesome custom light creations, this is the perfect place for you to go. There are over 750,000 lights at this piece of property, and lots of displays. On special nights, the Grinch visits! There is no charge, but donations are encouraged.
Visit their Facebook page to see when the grinch will be visiting!
Dewald Family Lights
236 Millstream Dr
Jackson, TN 38305
(Located within Wrights Mill subdivison off McClellan)
The Dewald family does not hold back when it comes to their Christmas light display, and I think each person in the family will find something they love at this house! You can enjoy this in the comfort of your car and this is conveniently located to several Jackson attractions. (Free.)
LANA & Historic Jackson Area
Several homes in the Lambuth area go above and beyond to decorate, and you can drive through the neighborhood with your family while enjoying several lights and attractions. Here’s a few addresses to help you find the best displays, although if you drive up and down the streets you should find plenty! (Free.)
624 Lambuth Blvd
10 Northwood Ave
325 Roland Ave
300 Westwood Ave
149 Mimosa Dr
411 Divison Ave
Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland at The Jackson Generals Ball Park
4 Fun Place
Jackson, TN 38305
(Exit 85)
This light show is professionally done and changed up every year to offer a new theme and story. Although you pay $25 per car at the entrance (make sure you have cash!), the experience is always unique, impressive, and memorable. You all but forget that you are driving through the ballpark parking lot (literally) as it is transformed into a wonderland of lights that seems to go on for miles. There is a music show to go along with it.
$25 per car
Christmas Lights of Five Points
30 Pierce Rd
Beech Bluff, TN
This is an individual that really does their house up right! They have a light show that can be synchronized to music by listening to 92.7 FM, and you can enjoy it from the comfort of your car!
Free
Sunset Valley Farms
11920 TN 200
Huron, TN 38345
Family owned farm that puts together a unique, impressive drive-thru light experience. This one is the whole package as it even offers onsite concessions such as street corn, BBQ, donut holes, and hot chocolate. It is $10 a car, and they do accept cards. This is a really neat one!
Memphis Zoo Lights
2000 Prentiss Pl
Memphis, TN
If you are going and want to get out and walk to enjoy a Christmas light experience, the Memphis Zoo lights may be for you. There are light displays, singing Christmas trees and reindeer, special rides through the trams, and horse drawn carriage rides available (additional cost). Masks are required the entire time you are in the Zoo. Tickets are $12, and it’s best to purchase them ahead of time on their website.
Starry Nights at Shelby Farms
500 N Pine Lake Dr
Memphis, TN 38120
Starry Nights is an amazing, memorable drive-thru experience at Shelby Farms in Memphis. It boasts 3.5 million lights (that’s right, I said million!) They have fun activities available like mobile scavenger hunts that will keep your kids engaged, and it’s a great experience. There are also carriage ride and hay ride options. The price varies based on when you go, but this week it is $30 (card price) or $35 (cash price) per car. Though pricy, it is also an annual fundraiser for Shelby Farms Park and Greenline, so you can feel good about your purchase! You can purchase tickets ahead of time or at the gate! You will want to enter at gate 1, the main park entrance, off Farm Road. For more details visit their website.
Radley Lights
3640 St. Phillip Drive & 5198 Jeffery Keith Dr
Bartlett, TN
Two homes that go all out and have worked together to put on an awesome light display! They accept donations that all go for the American Heart Association. They also have music with it! You drive-thru, and there will be an appearance by Santa on December 22 – but stay in your car! For more information visit their website.
